Kev

Kevin Jenkins is an artist/creative/stylist/producer/mixologist/host from the South, with a Bioenvironmental Engineering degree collecting dust somewhere in his parent’s basement.  He has worn a variety of hats (and hairstyles) to adapt to whatever environment he finds himself in. Once a self-professed “career student”, he has studied and obtained degrees/certifications in array of different fields, including Economics, Recording Technology, Biological Engineering, Environmental Occupational Safety & Health, and Waste Management.  He has appeared twice on one of daytime’s favorite shows, “The Price is Right”.  Although he was born in SC, he currently calls NC his home.  Some circles consider him Kodak Kev, a moniker that he has adopted from some of the flashy paparrazi-esque photos that feature on his Instagram account (@TheKevinJenkins), and for the ability to sneak some of the most hilarious candid photos from social events (and share them inconspicuously months later as a reminder).  Others in his creative and professional circles know him as focused but fun leader, with impeccable attention to detail.  Those may also recognize Kev as an incessant creative and visionary.  He is currently working in the fashion industry.  Once intimidated by the title, he now proudly wears the sash of “tastemaker” amongst friends and family.  

Those who get to know Kevin on a personal level start to recognize him as a curator of lavish collections, an appreciator of luxury, and a constant study of every-day world of pop-culture.  In sacrifice of sleep, he makes sure to stay as up-to-date on what’s going on, so that he can always have a fresh and real opinion to dish out.   Those who have worked with Kevin in musical settings know him not only as a talented musician and vocalist, but a consummate professional recording engineer.  He is also a distinguished and easy-going musical/vocal producer with a very keen ear. Socially, Kev has been known as many things in many different situations; Quiet…. Witty…. Observant…. Hysterical…. The Plug…. Messy; but more recently he has been called “Mona Scott Kev”; this is directly relative to his ability to mold and mix the most explosive “casts” of characters together for the craziest gatherings.  You always know you’re going to get an unforgettable experience at an event organized or hosted by Kev.  This knack for hosting events has led to quite a few overbookings on his social calendar, much to his pleasure and to his aggravation.  Those who are the closest with Kevin know that he is truly selfless, and willing to do anything for friends or family.  He also almost always take’s the devil’s advocate approach to examining every situation so that he can give always have a fully rounded perspective.  Socialite extraordinaire.  Fashionisto debonair.  Bartender with a unique flair.  With his reluctant embrace of the sarcasm of life, and as the lone male perspective on the “Black Bougie Broads featuring Kev” Podcast, he provides the antidote of humor and punch of realism needed in this beautiful bougie bunch.
